Alternative Syntax Code Examples of Advanced Usage

Important: This article highlights ways to build around the Sirvoy booking engine code. These methods are advanced and require web development knowledge.

Beyond pre-filling and preselecting booking engine options, web developers have even more advanced ways to customize the booking engine for their guests.

Alternative Syntax Code

We offer an alternative syntax that is sometimes useful if a website provider has problems with the default code. It supports all the same features as the default code but in regular javascript to easily integrate with other code.

This alternative syntax is a valuable tool for web developers who want to build their own code around the Sirvoy booking engine.

To access the alternative syntax:

  1. Go to Settings -> Booking engines.
  2. Click the three dots adjacent to a booking engine you want.
  3. In the drop-down list, select “How to install.”
  4. Copy the alternative syntax in “Copy this code.”

Examples of Advanced Usage

The possibilities are endless, but two real-life examples from hoteliers include:

  • Custom search bars that link to one or many different Sirvoy booking engines.
  • Custom interfaces for managing many properties from one website that lets guests select the property and other details first. Only then does it retrieve the search results from the Sirvoy booking engine. This solution can link to various Sirvoy booking engines from the same account or engines from different accounts.

Note: If you have examples that others would benefit from, please reach out to us, and we can include them here!
