Percentage surcharges or taxes can be set up both in Sirvoy and on the channel. It is important to adjust settings correctly in order for prices and amounts to be reflected accurately in Sirvoy.

If you have set up surcharges in Sirvoy (see related article) and wish to use these for your channel connections, you need to go to the channel’s mapping page in Sirvoy. Settings should there be adjusted to match how you’ve adjusted your channel’s settings and according to how you wish to display surcharges on the bookings in Sirvoy:

  • Have “Include surcharges when updating prices” turned ON if:
You have chosen a setting on the channel that prices sent from Sirvoy to a channel will include surcharges. Surcharge percentages will be applied on top of the price set in the room type settings in Sirvoy.
  • Have “Include surcharges when updating prices” turned OFF if:
You have chosen a setting on the channel that prices sent from Sirvoy to a channel will exclude surcharges. Surcharges created on the channel will be added on top of the prices sent from Sirvoy.
  • Have “Add surcharges when retrieving bookings” turned ON if:
You wish to have the surcharges added and specified on the bookings in Sirvoy.
  • Have “Add surcharges when retrieving bookings” turned OFF if:
You don’t wish to have the surcharges added to the bookings in Sirvoy. Note that this might cause the booking value seen in Sirvoy to differ from the one seen on the channel.

Note:

  • For now, only percentage surcharges or taxes are supported. Any fixed amount surcharge, tax, or fee set up on the channel will not be added correctly to the booking in Sirvoy unless it is set up as an extra instead. (For Expedia, the same is also true for percentage fees.) If you would still like to work with these, the “Add surcharges when retrieving bookings” should be set to OFF in order to have a correct booking total in the Sirvoy bookings. However, in that case, the nightly rate is not expected to be reflected correctly. An exception to this is if you are working with surcharges and are on the Expedia Collect Net model. In this case, “Add surcharges when retrieving bookings” can be set to ON without the booking total being incorrectly reflected. The nightly rate is still not expected to be reflected correctly though.
  • If you include taxes and surcharges in both Sirvoy and Booking.com, the total price may differ between them due to different calculation methods:
    • Sirvoy includes tax when calculating surcharges.
    • Booking.com excludes tax when calculating surcharges.
